A Message from the President
January 1, 2025
2024 was another exciting year at SCCU! We exceeded our financial targets and continued to better position the credit union for the future, allowing us to best serve our members and their financial needs.
We opened and upgraded several branches, including the new Summer Brook location in Brevard County, the relocated Cutler Bay branch in Miami-Dade, and the Cypress Creek branch in Broward County. The drive-thru-only Summer Brook concept has received an overwhelmingly positive response from our members.
Our preparation continued in the growth of the Credit Union to $10 billion in assets, which will bring new levels of regulatory oversight. We are well on our way and will be ready when the time comes.
As a company, we successfully converted to a new digital banking platform this year. This was a critical step forward to provide our membership with an accessible and modern platform with ever-increasing functionality on desktop and mobile app. We are excited that this is just the beginning, and you will continue to see enhancements over the next year!
I realize that the conversion from our prior online banking system was challenging. Though our proactive efforts included Team Member and member pilots and a solid implementation plan, we were faced with unknown circumstances from our partners that caused an experience that did not meet the standards of service you've come to expect. Our Team worked around the clock to deliver an improved experience. We are happy to report we have converted over 300,000 members to our new platform.
We continued to invest in our community this year, including multiple Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks, disaster relief with the American Red Cross, and teaching over 700 students through Junior Achievement.
Our United Way campaign was our most successful yet, raising over $700,000 and securing the #3 spot in Brevard County for the second consecutive year. Our Team Members are dedicated to giving back to the communities we serve.
2025 will be an equally exciting time! New branches will open, and innovative technologies will be deployed to continue to enhance your experience. We will keep investing in our dedicated team of 1,100 Team Members to ensure they are meeting your needs as your Financial Watchdog.
